美国爱荷华州（Iowa）达文波特（Davenport）一处公寓28日晚间惊传坍塌，目前救援工作正在进行，当局透露有1名伤者在现场接受治疗，但并未详细说明受伤人数。

美联社报导，救援人员28日下午5点左右接到报案并赶到现场，达文波特消防局长卡斯腾（Michael Carlsten）透露“这栋6层楼高的公寓后半部倒塌并与大楼分离”，并补充说“大楼较高楼层是公寓，较低的楼层则是企业办公室”。

此外， 卡斯腾在记者会上表示“消防队员一开始救出7人，并护送超过10人离开坍塌的建筑物”，据悉，当局在坍塌后还发现煤气洩漏和漏水的情况。

目前救援人员仍在寻找失踪的人，由于该座建筑物还发生二次坍塌，卡斯腾坦言“救援人员担心建筑物的稳定性”，并强调“我们现在的重点是救援，我们将继续评估，重点是试图找到人并将他们救出来”。

至于这座公寓大楼究竟为何坍塌的原因尚未釐清，不过达文波特市发展和社区服务主管奥斯瓦（Rich Oswald）在记者会上透露“大楼坍塌时正在维修外牆”。

其中一名住户罗宾森（Robert Robinson）回忆道“突然间，每个人都开始往外跑，并呼喊著『大楼坍塌了』，我很庆幸我们赶紧下楼”。此外，该地区的一些人指出“大楼有问题”，市政府官员表示已收到数起居民表示需要维修的投诉。
